1.Introduction
Welcome to MemeID.
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of MemeID, including the website at memeid.org, the MemeID interface, and any related software, tools, documentation, or services we provide (collectively, the “Service”).
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
2.What MemeID Does
MemeID provides an interface for interacting with an on-chain naming program on the Solana blockchain.
MemeID currently supports names using selected suffixes, including:
- .meme
- .pump
- .moon
- .fun
- .bull
- .bear
- .degen
When a name is registered, ownership information is stored on the Solana blockchain according to the rules of the MemeID program.
MemeID does not operate the Solana blockchain and does not control transactions after they have been submitted to the network.
3.Wallets
To register a MemeID name or use certain features, you may need to connect a compatible Solana wallet.
MemeID does not take custody of your wallet, private keys, seed phrase, or digital assets.
You are solely responsible for:
- safeguarding your wallet credentials;
- keeping your private keys and seed phrase secure;
- reviewing transactions before signing them;
- ensuring that you are using the correct wallet;
- maintaining sufficient SOL to pay applicable blockchain fees and account rent.
MemeID will never ask you to provide your private key or seed phrase.
4.Registration and Ownership
A MemeID name is registered to the wallet that successfully signs and completes the applicable on-chain registration transaction.
Registration is subject to:
- name availability;
- the rules enforced by the MemeID program;
- successful processing by the Solana network; and
- payment of any applicable Solana network fees, account rent, or other blockchain-level costs.
MemeID may currently charge no separate protocol registration fee. This does not mean registration is entirely cost-free, because Solana network or account-related costs may still apply.
A name is not considered successfully registered until the relevant on-chain state reflects the registration.
5.Name Availability
MemeID names are generally offered on a first-come, first-served basis according to the on-chain program.
The website may display availability information, but blockchain state is the final source of truth.
A name shown as available may become unavailable before your transaction is completed if another user registers it first.
MemeID does not guarantee that any particular name will remain available.
6.Blockchain Transactions
Blockchain transactions are generally irreversible once confirmed.
By submitting or signing a transaction through MemeID, you acknowledge that:
- the transaction may fail;
- the transaction may be delayed;
- the transaction may incur fees even if unsuccessful;
- network conditions may affect processing;
- transaction confirmation services may occasionally time out even when the transaction was successfully processed on-chain.
MemeID may attempt to verify blockchain state after a transaction, but does not guarantee that every transaction status will be displayed immediately or perfectly.
7.Public Blockchain Data
Solana is a public blockchain.
Information associated with MemeID registrations may be publicly visible, including:
- wallet addresses;
- registered names;
- program accounts;
- transaction signatures;
- timestamps;
- blockchain activity.
You should not register or publish information that you do not want associated with a public blockchain record.
Blockchain records may be difficult or impossible to delete.
8.Prohibited Use
You may not use MemeID to:
- violate applicable law;
- impersonate another person or entity in a deceptive or unlawful way;
- engage in fraud, phishing, scams, or theft;
- distribute malware or harmful software;
- interfere with or disrupt the Service;
- attempt to exploit vulnerabilities in the website or program;
- use automated systems in a way that materially disrupts normal use of the Service;
- register names for unlawful harassment, threats, or other illegal activity;
- use MemeID in connection with activity prohibited by applicable sanctions or financial crime laws.
MemeID may restrict access to its website or interface where reasonably necessary to protect users, the Service, or comply with legal obligations.
Any such restriction does not necessarily affect blockchain data or assets that exist independently on Solana.
9.Third-Party Services
MemeID may rely on or link to third-party services, including:
- Solana;
- wallet providers;
- RPC providers;
- blockchain explorers;
- hosting providers;
- analytics providers;
- external websites.
Those services are controlled by third parties and may have their own terms and privacy policies.
MemeID is not responsible for the availability, security, accuracy, or operation of third-party services.
10.No Custody
MemeID is non-custodial.
We do not hold or control:
- your private keys;
- your seed phrase;
- your wallet;
- your SOL;
- tokens or other digital assets held in your wallet.
You remain responsible for all actions performed using your wallet.
11.No Financial Advice
MemeID is a naming and identity service.
Nothing on MemeID constitutes:
- financial advice;
- investment advice;
- trading advice;
- legal advice;
- tax advice.
A MemeID name should not be treated as an investment or as having guaranteed resale value.
12.No Guarantee of Value
MemeID does not guarantee that any registered name will have:
- monetary value;
- resale value;
- continued demand;
- compatibility with third-party applications;
- permanent support by external wallets or services.
Any perceived or future value of a MemeID name is entirely uncertain.
13.Availability of the Service
We may modify, update, suspend, or discontinue parts of the website or interface at any time.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted access to:
- the website;
- RPC services;
- blockchain data;
- wallet integrations;
- name lookup;
- registration tools;
- developer documentation.
The underlying Solana program may continue to exist independently of the MemeID website.
14.Program Upgrades
Where the deployed MemeID program is upgradeable, authorized upgrade mechanisms may be used to:
- fix bugs;
- improve security;
- add functionality;
- modify program behavior.
Where appropriate, material changes may be communicated through MemeID channels.
You are responsible for reviewing current program behavior before interacting with it.
15.Intellectual Property
The MemeID name, branding, website design, documentation, and original website content may be protected by intellectual property laws.
These Terms do not give you ownership of MemeID branding, source materials, or other proprietary content.
Your ownership of an on-chain MemeID name does not give you rights to MemeID trademarks or branding.
16.Third-Party Rights and Names
Registering a MemeID name does not automatically grant you trademark, copyright, publicity, or other legal rights to the corresponding word, brand, name, or identity.
You are responsible for ensuring your registration and use of a name does not violate applicable third-party rights.
17.Disclaimer of Warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MemeID is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
We do not make warranties that the Service will be:
- uninterrupted;
- error-free;
- secure;
- free of vulnerabilities;
- compatible with every wallet or application;
- permanently available;
- free from data inaccuracies caused by RPC or blockchain indexing issues.
Nothing in these Terms excludes any warranty or right that cannot legally be excluded.
18.Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, MemeID and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or similar damages arising from or relating to use of the Service.
This includes losses arising from:
- lost private keys;
- compromised wallets;
- user error;
- failed transactions;
- blockchain congestion;
- RPC outages;
- smart-contract or program bugs;
- third-party services;
- mistaken registrations;
- loss of access to a wallet;
- changes to blockchain infrastructure.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability where doing so would be prohibited by law.
19.Indemnity
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to be responsible for claims, losses, or expenses arising from your unlawful use of MemeID or your violation of these Terms.
20.Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time.
When we make material changes, we may update the “Last updated” date and may provide additional notice where appropriate.
Your continued use of the Service after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of those updated Terms where permitted by law.
21.Governing Law
Applicable governing law and jurisdiction may depend on the legal entity operating MemeID and the location from which the Service is provided.
This section should be updated with the appropriate jurisdiction before final commercial launch.
